Bron Breakker's reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion is over after just 51 days and one successful title defence.

Breakker put the gold on the line for only the second time in the main event of Monday's Raw against Jey Uso and the former Bloodline member picked up the surprise win after sending Breakker through the barricade and following up with a Spear and Uso Splash back in the ring. Raw then went off the air as Jey celebrated his victory.

Jey Uso earned an Intercontinental Title shot in recent weeks after winning a number one contender's tournament, overcoming Butch, Braun Strowman, and Ilja Dragunov in the Fatal 4-Way final. Monday's victory saw Uso win his first singles title in WWE, although he is a multi-time tag team champion.

Bron Breakker had only held the Intercontinental Championship since defeating Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. The nephew of Scott Steiner has been on the receiving end of a push since making his way to the main roster on a full-time basis earlier this year and he has feuded with the likes of Ricochet and Ilja Dragunov.
