Jimmy Smith Joins WWE Raw As Play-By-Play Announcer

A new voice of Monday Nights...

WWE have confirmed the appointment of Jimmy Smith as the company's new play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Raw.

Smith replaced Adnan Virk, who was confirmed as departing WWE on Tuesday after just 43 days in the position.

A former UFC and Bellator MMA announcer, Smith will be joined by colour commentators Corey Graves and Byron Saxton on WWE's red brand.

Smith recently served as an analyst for WWE on NXT, appearing on NXT TakeOver pre-show panels and worked across 'special projects' for the black-and-gold brand. The 43-year-old is also the daily host of SiriusXM's 'Unlocking the Cage, and previously presented 'American Ninja Warrior' on G4.

Smith has taken to social media to react to his new position in WWE, promising fans that he will give his all in ensuring he honours both the craft and the performers.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "Hey guys, well it’s been a busy day. Apparently @WWE liked my work so far. I know I’m stepping into a new world (I WAS a Mr. Perfect and Bruiser Brody fanatic however) but know I’ll do everything I can to honor the athletes and fans. Watch Monday and judge my work for yourself."
