Amidst the recent SAG-AFTRA strikes, John Cena made his comeback to WWE programming due to having nothing else to do with his time, making for a fun run working with names like The Miz, LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy Uso thus far.

Cena has been announced for shows throughout October, though with the ongoing strikes, it hasn’t been made exactly clear how long Cena will continue to be around. He provided somewhat of an answer at the Fastlane 2023 press conference, revealing that when the strikes come to an end, it will mean the end of his current run with WWE.

"I've made it perfectly clear you can't do both because of the liability insurance. And if I were to try and juggle both, that would be incredibly selfish because I'd put a lot of people in the movie business out of work if something happened to me.  I stopped a project in the middle of it [because of the strike], I can't even talk about the project because of the strike we're in, but we're in the middle of it. So as soon as we get back to work, I'll get back to work. But I don't control any of that.  I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we can find a resolve that everybody's happy with. For right now, this is the best way I feel I can help is to come back home to my (WWE) family."

Cena teamed up with LA Knight last night to defeat The Bloodline in what was his first televised match of this most recent run, having also competed in dark matches.
