John Cena briefly lost his cool at Fanatics Fest, which took place at the Javits Center in New York City from June 20 to June 22.

Cena was one of the special guests at the convention and while walking around the Javits Center, Cena took a selfie with a fan, TikTok user @theoriginalityshow.

After the selfie, though, the fan continued to record Cena, which generated an angry response from the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.

"I'm a big fan of consent, right? So if you would like to take a video, I'm a big fan of consent," Cena said.

The fan apologised to Cena and the 48-year-old later issued his own apology for his angry reaction.

"I'm sorry for walking away from you. I should just take a deep breath and I feel like I'm in a tough situation. Thank you so much. It's all cool, I just know it's kind of chaos back here. I'll give you whatever you want as long as you ask. I appreciate you," Cena added.

The fan himself wrote on TikTok:

"Met @John Cena & accidentally crossed a boundary. He called it out, walked away…then came back and apologised for how he handled it. Mad respect. Sometimes it’s not about being perfect, it’s about accountability. Real one."

John Cena will next be in action at WWE Night of Champions on Saturday, June 28 when he defends the Undisputed WWE Title against CM Punk. Whether Night of Champions would still take place had been up in the air due to issues in the Middle East between Israel and Iran, but the show is expected to proceed as planned.

Cena cut his own version of the pipe bomb on CM Punk ahead of Night of Champions, during which Punk was lay down on the Slim Jim table. The sheer length of Punk's selling prompted WWE to make a minor change to the segment, reportedly to make the long lie down "less cringey."
