John Cena Makes WWE In-Ring Return

Cena is back in the ring

John Cena wrestled in his first WWE match in over a year on Friday, July 23.

The 16-time world champion called out Roman Reigns and had his SummerSlam challenge rejected on Friday Night SmackDown and Cena would step inside the squared circle after the show went off the air. Cena teamed with Rey and Dominik Mysterio to defeat Roman Reigns and The Usos in a dark match.

Cena would then wrestle two more times over the weekend as WWE held their first set of house shows since before the COVID-19 pandemic. During WWE's visits to Pittsburgh's PPG Arena and Louisville's KFC Yum! Center, Cena once again teamed with The Mysterios against Roman Reigns and The Usos in the main event of both nights.

Cena is currently touring the country with WWE as part of 'The Summer of Cena' and the Suicide Squad star is set to compete at five more house shows before the tour ends at SummerSlam on August 21. Big Match John is also advertised for upcoming episodes of SmackDown and Monday Night Raw.
