John Cena is set to win one more championship in WWE before he retires at the December 13 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington, DC.
Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the plan as of a few weeks ago was for Cena to defeat Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title at Survivor Series on Saturday, November 29. Cena will then defend the Intercontinental Championship against Gunther in his retirement match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Should WWE go through with the plan for Cena to win the Intercontinental Title, it would make him a WWE Grand Slam Champion. Cena has already completed much of the requirements for a Grand Slam, having held the WWE Title, United States Championship, and WWE Tag Team Titles.
Cena has already held gold in 2025, having become a 17-time world champion with his Undisputed WWE Title win against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. Cena dropped the belt back to Rhodes at SummerSlam.
Survivor Series will be John Cena's penultimate match, and the 48-year-old only has four more appearances before he retires. Along with Survivor Series and Saturday Night's Main Event, Cena is scheduled for the November 10 and November 17 episodes of Monday Night Raw.
