John Cena's Current WWE Run To Continue After SummerSlam

Cena will be sticking around for a little while longer

John Cena's current WWE run will continue after SummerSlam.

The 16-time world champion returned at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view and WWE's 'Summer Of Cena' was billed to last until SummerSlam on August 21, when Cena is expected to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

With Cena having been cast in spy thriller 'Argylle' and filming set to get underway in August, The Doctor Of Thuganomics wasn't expected to stick around in WWE.

Cena will be involved in WWE beyond SummerSlam, though, and the company announced the Peacemaker star will appear at the Super SmackDown on September 10 at Madison Square Garden.

The September 10 show will mark WWE's return to the famous arena since before the COVID-19 pandemic and both SmackDown and Raw Superstars will be in action at the event. The likes of Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, The Usos, Edge, Apollo Crews, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are all advertised for the show. Sasha Banks also looks set to return to WWE TV soon as she is also advertised for the Super SmackDown.
