The name ‘Vince McMahon’ has been mostly blacklisted from WWE over the last year since allegations and a lawsuit emerged regarding sexual misconduct. John Cena has previously been more favourable about McMahon when asked, taking more of a positive swing on the man he knows and what he has meant to his career. It looks as though he is now less inclined to speak much on his former boss.

Following the announcement of his 2025 retirement tour, John Cena appeared at the post-show press conference, and was asked by John Pollock of POST Wrestling about what McMahon has meant to his career.

“Well, surely an uncomfortable question. Man, I really would much rather talk about what’s ahead of us, and that’s really important. I’ve been pretty honest, in my opinion, to the answer to that question. And if you didn’t see it, I know you can dig it up somewhere. But I think we’re on the precipice of something pretty special. And as the business evolves and continues to evolve, damn, it’s in pretty good hands with the TKO folks. So I am happy to be where I’m at. Again, I think if you want that information, you dig hard enough, you can find it. Thank you, though. Appreciate the courage.”

Cena did not mention McMahon by name in his answer, sidestepping the question but also pointing towards other interviews and times where he has commented on something similar.
