John Cena, Trish Stratus & Logan Paul Matches Set For WWE WrestleMania 39

Major matches official for WWE WrestleMania 39

John Cena is set to perform at WrestleMania for the first time in three years.

The 16-time world champion returned to WWE TV on the March 6 edition of Monday Night Raw from Boston, Massachusetts but his promo was soon interrupted by Austin Theory. The young star challenged Cena to a United States Title match at WrestleMania 39 and Cena initially rejected the offer before he was urged to accept by the fans in attendance. Cena did just that and the segment ended after Cena told Theory he doesn't have the brains, the guts, or the balls, hitting him down low for good measure.

Trish Stratus is also set to come out of retirement at WrestleMania 39 and the WWE Hall of Famer will team with her longtime rival/friend Lita and Becky Lynch to take on Damage CTRL's Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY. The match appeared likely after Stratus returned to WWE on last week's Raw and helped Lynch and Lita defeat Kai and SKY for the Women's Tag Team Titles.

Also booked for WrestleMania 39 on Raw was Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul. The two competitors have had issues since Paul eliminated the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion from the Royal Rumble. Paul then cost Rollins the United States Title at Elimination Chamber.

Rollins and Paul came face-to-face on Raw in a segment that was presided over by WrestleMania 39 host The Miz. Rollins initially suggested he and Paul clash on Raw but the YouTuber stated he is a "premium attraction" and would only wrestle on a bigger stage with a bigger payday. The Miz noted he could make that happen, making the clash official for the Showcase of the Immortals.

WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1 and April 2 in Los Angeles, California. Check out the updated card below:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
