John Morrison Reveals When He Found Out He Would Be Teaming With The Miz, How He Ended Up On WWE SmackDown

The Shaman Of Sexy speaks...

Back in December, WWE announced former IMPACT Wrestling and Lucha Underground Champion John Morrison would be returning to the company.

Since coming back, The Prince Of Parkour has reformed his tag team with The Miz on SmackDown and they are set to take on The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Super ShowDown.

During a recent interview with Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT, Morrison discussed his recent return in which he revealed he only found out he and Miz would be reforming their tag team the day before he made his second debut on Friday Night SmackDown.

Morrison said: "In typical WWE fashion, in typical sports entertainment fashion, I didn’t know I was going to be back teaming with The Miz until the day before. So far, everything has been great. It’s been really cool catching up with Miz and working with him again."

The former Intercontinental Champion wasn't even sure which brand he would be on when he re-signed with WWE but admitted he would have been "stoked" to wrestle in NXT for a little while. This didn't come to pass, however, as SmackDown's creative team were the first to pitch storylines for Morrison, causing him to end up on the blue brand.

The Shaman Of Sexy elaborated: "We didn’t talk about it specifically, but I mentioned to Hunter that I would be really excited to go to NXT if that’s what happened. That roster is so ridiculously talented. So many up and coming stars, really 'stars' already. So we kind of glossed over it, but I mentioned that if I ended up on NXT I'd be stoked. When I started to talk about that kind of thing, he mentioned it wasn't the time to talk about it yet and it was going to go into creative's hands. The team from SmackDown was the first team that spoke up and said they wanted me on the show so that's what happened."
