Jon Moxley is still the AEW World Champion, having successfully defended the title against Swerve Strickland in the main event of the Dynasty pay-per-view on Sunday night, courtesy of interference from The Young Bucks.
The finish saw Jon Moxley throw a chair at referee Paul Turner after Swerve Strickland ducked. This prompted Hangman Page to head to the ring and he was conflicted between attacking Strickland or Moxley but his mind was made up for him after the Death Riders arrived. Page was initially able to fend them off and hit Moxley with a Deadeye but he was soon overwhelmed.
This brought out The Opps and they and the Death Riders brawled to the back. At this point, Strickland threw a chair at Moxley's head and connected with a Swerve Stomp. Swerve then moved to make the cover when the lights in the arena suddenly went out.
When they came back on, The Young Bucks were holding Swerve's arms and they suddenly laid Strickland out with an EVP Trigger. Jon Moxley then rolled back into the ring and won by pinfall as Paul Turner recovered to count the 1-2-3.
Matthew and Nicholas Jackson had been gone from AEW TV for several months, having 'worked from home' since late 2024 to escape the Death Riders. Why exactly they helped Moxley and laid out Swerve has yet to be explained in storyline.
