Jon Moxley To Make Bloodsport Debut Next Month

Just days before he faces Lance Archer...

One year after Jon Moxley had to pull out of a match with Josh Barnett, the reigning AEW World Heavyweight champion is scheduled to wrestle at Barnett's Bloodsport III, taking place in Indianapolis on Sunday, October 11.

Barnett officially confirmed Moxley's participation on Twitter.

An elbow injury put a halt to the planned Moxley-Barnett match from a year ago. Though his opponent for this year hasn't been confirmed, it's likely that Moxley will have that scheduled Barnett match this time around.

The two were also scheduled to face off earlier this year, before the pandemic scrapped that match as well.

Whomever Moxley faces at Bloodsport, the match will take place three days before his AEW World title defense against Lance Archer, which is set for the special one-year anniversary edition of Dynamite.

Bloodsport presents matches on a ring canvas, with no ropes or turnbuckles, using a worked MMA style. Matches end via submission or knockout.

Other participants announced for Bloodsport include Deonna Purazzo, Josh Alexander, Homicide, Calvin Tankman, Chris Dickinson, "Grizzly" Kal Jak, Lindsay Snow, Erik Hammer, and Killer Kelly.
