JTG: WWE Wanted To Do "Where Are They Now" On Cryme Tyme Prior To Pandemic

Also says there were talks of a possible return...

Former WWE star JTG made a recent appearance on Lilian Garcia's "Chasing Glory" podcast. Much discussion, understandably, centered around the recently departed Shad Gaspard, JTG's longtime partner in the tag team Cryme Tyme.

Though Gaspard last worked for WWE in 2010, and JTG was released in 2014 following a long period of inactivity, JTG indicates that the company still viewed the pair favorably, and were apparently looking to do something with them again.

"The last time were backstage two years ago, the head of talent relations saw and was like, 'You look amazing, you look great. The door is always open. We would love to have you back.'" JTG recalls. "There was talk but nothing ever became of it. I also heard through the grapevine our name was brought up a couple of times. Then they reached out to us right when the quarantine started about a Where Are They Now? episode. But they never did it."

As Cryme Tyme, Gaspard and JTG wrestled together on WWE programming between 2006 and 2010, before splitting up following a Gaspard heel turn.

Gaspard sadly passed away on May 17, when he disappeared underwater in a rip current, while rescue personnel were saving his son from the same predicament.
