Kay Lee Ray Officially Renamed On WWE NXT

No more Kay Lee Ray on WWE NXT

Kay Lee Ray is officially no more on WWE TV.

The former NXT UK Women's Champion appeared in a vignette on Tuesday's edition of NXT and declared that fans knew who she was but to understand her now, she had to resurrect her past. KLR then set fire to a baseball bat and waved it around before a CGI display revealed her new name was Alba Fyre.

When translated from Scottish Gaelic to English, Alba Fyre means Scotland Fire.

Fyre is just the latest WWE talent to undergo a name change following a Vince McMahon memo which stated wrestlers could no longer use their real names or the monikers they used on the independent wrestling scene.

The likes of WALTER, Marcel Barthel, Kacy Catanzaro, Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne, and Austin Theory have all either had their names shortened or changed completely.

After a long run in NXT UK, Kay Lee Ray debuted on NXT back in August of 2021. She was last in action on the developmental brand at Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania 38 weekend when she unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT Women's Title.
