The go-home edition of AEW: Dynamite before Forbidden Door had a few surprises up its sleeve, with Kazuchika Okada making his AEW debut.

On Dynamite, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White addressed Adam Cole and Hangman Page after Page’s victory over Silas Young, with ‘Switchblade’ saying neither were fit to face him at Forbidden Door, before White and Cole beat Hangman down.

After Cole teased hitting White with White’s title belt, the famous coin drop echoed around the arena as Okada made the save, with ‘The Rainmaker’ and ‘The Hangman’ fighting off Cole and White, whilst teasing animosity between the two.

Later on in the show it was confirmed that there will be a four-way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door, with White putting the gold on the line against Okada, Hangman, and Cole.

Okada’s status for Forbidden Door was seemingly up in the air after he dropped the IWGP World Heavyweight Title to Jay White, with many believing a three-way match for the gold between White, Cole, and Hangman was the logical bout for Forbidden Door.
