Sean Waltman - fka X-Pac - has revealed how a bout of diverticulitis in 2024 almost killed him, and how Kenny Omega helped him through the condition.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer was a guest on Instinct Culture, and revealed how his fight with the disease means he will not be returning to a ring anytime soon:

"I won't beat around the bush, no [he will not be making an in-ring return]. Then, watch, next thing you know I show up at Rumble or something. No, I was just trying to get in better shape. Earlier last year, I was in the hospital for eight days with diverticulitis. It almost killed me. I lost a bunch of weight, like thirty pounds. After that, I decided I was going to take everything a little more serious and get off my ass. I've been training every day and s***," said Waltman.

Despite the severity of the condition, Waltman did note that he is currently feeling great after a tough recovery:

"I'm doing great. (The recovery) was tough. It took a while to feel better. Now, I'm feeling good. It came back a little bit, but as soon as I noticed it, I was in the hospital right away. All that to say, I'm doing great now, but I had a rough time."

Omega recently returned to in-ring competition at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty following his own bout of diverticulitis, with Waltman revealing that he and Omega have been texting about their experiences:

“He helped me with it,” said Waltman. “I was in the hospital texting with him and he's telling me what's going on and what I should expect.”
