AEW Announce Kenny Omega Will Defend The AAA Mega Championship On This Week's Episode Of Dynamite

The coronavirus pandemic has caused major disruption to All Elite Wrestling and its programming. The young promotion has indefinitely postponed its Blood & Guts match between The Elite and The Inner Circle, and all episodes of Dynamite will be broadcast behind closed doors until May 13.

With changes having to be made to tomorrow's episode, the feud between The Elite and The Inner Circle will continue as Kenny Omega defends his AAA Mega Championship against Sammy Guevara. The Spanish God has put in some impressive performances in 2020, and despite losing five of his last six matches on AEW TV, he has still been deemed worthy of a title shot. 

This will be Omega's third defence of AAA's top crown. Since winning the title from Rey Fenix back in October, he has succesfully defended it against Jack Evans on the November 20 episode of Dark and he defeated Dragon Lee at Triplemania Regia on December 1. The Cleaner was scheduled to face Laredo Kid at Rey De Reyes, but with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the match was cancelled and Omega will instead defend the championship against Guevara.
