After their physical confrontation at the end of the AEW Double or Nothing's ticket announcement party on Thursday night in Las Vegas, it seemed to be a safe bet that Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho were set for a collision course once more, with AEW's inaugural pay-per-view being the epicenter.

On Sunday night, it was confirmed via the official AEW Twitter account that

Omega and Jericho is an official match

for Double or Nothing on Saturday night, May 25, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The match was also confirmed on the

latest episode of Being the Elite

, which was also released on Sunday night.

Omega and Jericho previously wrestled one another in the semi-main event at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome in January 2018. The pair wrestled a heated and violent 35-minute match that Dave Meltzer gave a five-star rating to.

Based on Jericho's forthcoming wrestling schedule, this could be the first non-WWE (or non-WWE developmental) match of his wrestled in the mainland United States since leaving WCW in July 1999.
