Kevin Owens Needs 'A Little Break' Following WWE Hell In A Cell
KO could be taking some time off
Kevin Owens has indicated he will be taking some time off from WWE after saying he needs 'a little break' on social media.
Owens competed at Sunday's WWE Hell In A Cell event in a losing effort to long-time friend and rival Sami Zayn, with KO heavily selling damage to his throat throughout the match. The former Universal Champion was attacked by Commander Azeez on last week's SmackDown, and hit with the Nigerian Nail twice.
The 37-year-old also sold an arm injury throughout the bout and, having gone to war with Zayn once again, indicated on social media that he will be taking a short time away from the ring.
Writing on Twitter, Owens said: "I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys."
So far, there has been no indication from WWE that Owens will not be on television, nor how long for he will be away for. Owens had been involved in the Intercontinental Championship chase over the past few weeks as he, Zayn and Big E all pursued Apollo Crews.
