All Elite Wrestling Star Killswitch - fka Luchasaurus - has been hospitalised with pneumonia.

A report from Fightful Select states that the former AEW World Tag Team Champion had collapsed on September 27, with his fiancée finding him and contacting emergency services. After being rushed to hospital it was discovered that Killswitch - real name Austin Matelson - had pneumonia in both lungs, with tests showing his blood oxygen levels had fallen below 80%.

Doctors revealed that Matelson was days away from suffering permanent lung damage, and has been hooked up to oxygen in the days since his admission in order to aid his recovery. It’s expected that recovery will take a month, although any timeframe for an in-ring return for Matelson is unclear at the time of writing.

Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the hope is Killswitch will be able to go home on Wednesday.

Killswitch last wrestled at AEW All In Wembley on August 25, wrestling in the show opening AEW World Trios Championship four-way ladder match, and later taking the final spot in the Casino Gauntlet match, handing the win to Patriarchy leader Christian Cage.

A part of AEW since the company was founded in 2019, Luchasaurus is a former Tag Team, Trios, and TNT Champion in the organisation.
