Kurt Angle Chooses Opponent For Farewell Match At WWE WrestleMania 35

On April 7...

In a very brief announcement made before competing in a match, Kurt Angle told the assembled crowd in Chicago whom he had selected for his final match, taking place at WrestleMania 35 on April 7 in East Rutherford.

Adhering to the storyline that has been running since last spring, Angle announced that he would be opting to face the man that has "made his life hell" since that time, Baron Corbin.

In June 2018, Corbin was installed on Raw by Stephanie McMahon as an oversight figure for GM Kurt Angle, not-so-subtly working to undermine him at every possible turn. Angle was eventually removed from the position, and Corbin took control, before he himself was stripped of all authoritative powers late last year.

In his career, Angle has gone 4-5 at WrestleMania. He's taken part in three World title matches at the event - vs Brock Lesnar at 19, Eddie Guerrero at 20, and Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton at 22. In his most recent WrestleMania match, he and Ronda Rousey defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, one year ago in New Orleans.
