Kurt Angle Confirms Jason Jordan Storyline Was A Vince McMahon Rib

WWE began to establish Jason Jordan as a rising star in 2017, revealing him as the son of then-Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. The former Alpha Academy member would then receive a sustained push until early 2018 when he suffered a career-ending neck injury. 

Speaking about the pairing with Jordan on his podcast, Kurt Angle revealed the storyline was booked as a rib from Vince McMahon. 

"Vince McMahon caught wind that I dated a couple of African American women in my past, just a couple. About 17 years ago, he had me do a programme with Booker T and Sharmell where I was stalking Sharmell, Booker T's wife, and now it's Jason Jordan. So Vince likes to take ribs and turn them into storylines. He just has this crazy weird personality, and he just wanted to kind of rub it in my face, like, 'I know what was going on in your life and we're going to make some of that storyline,'" Angle said. 

Since his retirement, Jordan has worked backstage in WWE as a producer and he was promoted to Lead Producer earlier this year.
