Kurt Angle Praises Gunther's Ability, Believes Match Between Them Would Have Been 'Really Good'

Kurt Angle has praise indeed for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther

Whilst Kurt Angle has no intentions of ever wrestling again, he has pondered what a match would look like between himself and Gunther, with Angle full of praise for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Angle spoke of ‘Der Ring General’ during a virtual signing with K&S Wrestlefest, with the Olympic hero believing a match between prime Angle and Gunther would have been one of his career best:

“Great talent (Angle said about GUNTHER). I love his talent. He is (a throwback) and he’s a great technician. Really good. I don’t wanna be in front of any of his chops though.

“Yes, yes (I would have looked forward to that match in my prime). I think it’d be a really good match. I would put it up there with Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. I think he’s really that good,” said Angle.

The two have never wrestled each other but did share a WWE ring in January 2023, with Angle refereeing a six-man match pitting Gunther and Imperium team mates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci against Seth Rollins and The Street Profits at RAW is XXX.
