Kurt Angle Seeking 'Lost' WWE Dark Match Against Owen Hart

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has taken to social media in a bid to track down his 'lost' dark match against Owen Hart.

"In 1999 I had the privilege of wrestling the legendary Owen Hart in a dark match in the WWE 5 days before his unfortunate death. Til this day, I haven't seen any video footage of it. If anyone has ever seen the footage of my match with Owen, message me in the comments below. Someone had to record it. #itstrue", he wrote on X.

Hart defeated Angle in their lone outing, which took place prior to an April 10, 1999 television taping (making it thirteen days before Owen's tragic passing).

While the match was likely recorded, as dark matches typically were in that era, it has yet to surface.

Angle is not alone in wanting to see the match, as it is a common request for the WWE Vault YouTube channel. In a post last month, the channel noted that they have yet to find any footage of it.

Kurt spoke about the match in 2022, noting that it increased his confidence level due to Owen carrying the relatively inexperienced Olympian.
