Lance Anoa'i Reveals MLW "Shut Down" WWE Tribal Court Appearance

MLW stopped Lance Anoa'i appearing in WWE

WWE’s Tribal Court segment involving The Bloodline and Sami Zayn was a big part of The Bloodline saga back at its peak, and prior to it taking place it was believed that some wider members of the Anoa’i family could make an appearance - notably the “elders” of the family, who have been often referred to by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

According to fellow wrestler and family member Lance Anoa’i, this was in fact the plan, though several hurdles got in the way of it actually happening. Speaking to Steve Fall, Anoa’i revealed that MLW (where he worked at the time) put a stop to any of their talent appearing on WWE Monday Night RAW for the segment.

“The Tribal Court, they wanted a lot of us. They asked my grandfather, my dad, my uncles, me, Jacob (Fatu), they wanted us all and unfortunately due to our contracts and everything, we weren't able to.

"We pitched that point and we got shut down. We don't know why. It is what it is. We just ran with it. They even did the A&E special filming my whole family at our family reunions and we weren't allowed to be in any of it. So, it was just a few missed opportunities and hopefully, it just comes right back around and everybody will be able to see how big our family is still growing."

Anoa’i noted in the interview that MLW getting in the way of opportunities led to him asking for his release from the promotion. He was granted his release at the end of last month.
