Lance Archer: AEW Was "Much More Attentive" To Having Him Than NJPW

"The Murderhawk Monster" discusses his decision...

In two weeks time, Lance Archer will vie for the opportunity to become AEW's first ever TNT champion, when he faces off with Cody Rhodes at Double or Nothing in the tournament final to crown a titleholder.

Archer made the decision to jump from NJPW to AEW several months ago, after spending the majority of the previous decade wrestling in New Japan.

Archer says that New Japan made him an offer, and admitted to TalkSPORT that choosing where to go was, "...a longer thinking process, a bigger decision process."

“It ultimately came down to the people in AEW were much more attentive to having me apart of AEW," Archer says. "The numbers were adding up in the right way.

“The opportunity to be apart of something that is growing, help that and help AEW become even greater than it already is, that challenge was just too enticing."

Archer stressed the difficulty of picking his destination, adding, “Nothing was quick about the process. It took its time and I made some tough decisions, but ultimately the right decision in my opinion. That’s what led me to AEW and now we’re here, I’m ready to kick some ass.”
