Lance Archer Reveals He's Been Suffering From A Torn Triceps

Lance Archer has suffered a torn triceps

Lance Archer will not be facing IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II on June 25, after ‘The Murderhawk Monster’ lost to Will Ospreay at NJPW Dominion on June 4 in the final of a tournament for a shot at Omega’s gold.

The match was only Archer’s 10th of the year, and during a post-match backstage promo at Dominion, Archer revealed that he has been dealing with injury:

“There is a reason I haven't been wrestling a lot and it has nothing to do with bad booking you dumbs***s. What everybody doesn't even realise is that I've been battling a torn triceps and I've kept it quiet, I didn't tell anybody, because I don't need your sympathy, I don't need your get well wishes, I don't need anything. I just needed time and now I'm back,” said Archer.

Prior to his loss to Ospreay at Dominion, Archer hadn’t competed since wrestling for 1PW in April. Archer also had a two-month absence from all competition from December 23, 2022 until late February 2023, with Archer wrestling a handful of squash matches on AEW and ROH TV for the earlier part of the year.
