Latest Update On WWE NXT Moving To FS1

Is the developmental brand moving up?

The "Wednesday Night Wars" look very likely to be a thing this fall, with AEW premiering on TNT on October 2, and WWE developmental group NXT potentially moving to the cable TV world.

According to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer, while no announcement has been made yet, NXT looks to be getting a two-hour Wednesday night time slot on Fox Sports 1, running in the same 8 to 10 PM window that AEW's TNT show will occupy

Meltzer also adds that the show will likely be live, as "a taped show will not work to head-off AEW."

Also noted is that WWE seems apt to mix in main roster talent onto the NXT program, as a means of giving them an edge.

Meltzer wrote in regards to the move, "it’s far enough along that FOX told some affiliates already."

It's not clear when this show would begin, how scheduling will work (due to FS1's airing of Big East basketball) or what the status of NXT would be on WWE Network as a result.
