Launch Of NXT Europe Delayed By WWE-UFC Merger

NXT Europe has been pushed back due to the UFC-WWE merger

Following the closure of WWE NXT UK in August 2022, WWE announced that NXT Europe would launch at some point in 2023.

We are now over halfway through the year, though, and WWE has yet to launch the brand, with Triple H having now revealed during the post-Money in the Bank press conference that plans for NXT Europe have been delayed by the pending merger between WWE and UFC.

"It's just slowed down the process. I'm terrible with time. At some point, end of the year last year, whenever it was, we said in '23 it would happen. Not having a crystal ball to see where everything was headed in that moment in time, obviously, this transition with the merger with UFC, Endeavor, and TKO, it's changed the timeframe. The intent is still the same," Triple H said.

"I mentioned under the premise of WrestleMania and premium live events going global, we're a global company. We're looking to be everywhere. There is a lot of amazing talent here, internationally, and we'd love to explore that and give them opportunities to shine on the biggest stage possible and see what we can do with that. It's just going to take a little bit of time."

It was announced back in April 2023 that WWE had been sold to Endeavor and the pro wrestling company will merge with UFC as TKO Group Holdings by the end of this year. Ari Emanuel will be the head of the new company, while Vince McMahon will become Executive Chairman of TKO Group Holdings. Nick Khan will transition from his role as CEO of WWE to WWE President.
