Les Battersby Returning To SOVPRO For May 6 Show

Les Battersby heading back to SOVPRO

Les Battersby (real name Bruce Jones) won't be gone from professional wrestling for long.

Sovereign Pro Wrestling have announced the former Coronation Street star will make his return to SOVPRO at False Idols on Monday, May 6. The show will take place on a bank holiday at the Trinity Sports Centre in Manchester, England.

There is no word on what Battersby will be doing beyond that he is the leader of Les Battersby World Order. Battersby made his pro wrestling debut on SOVPRO's February 18 show which saw the LBWO take out The Wright Way, a faction dedicated to former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and Battersby even put away Thatcher Wright with the Iron Claw.

Fans will be able to watch Battersby's pro wrestling debut and the full SOVPRO show on the promotion's YouTube channel from 7 pm GMT on Friday, March 1. One of the headline matches saw TNA's Leon Slater defend the SOVPRO Commonwealth Title against Jordan Oliver.

Bruce Jones rose to fame in the United Kingdom by portraying Les Battersby on Coronation Street between 1997 and 2008. He was one of the soap opera's iconic characters.
