Lex Luger Concerned Cody Rhodes Will Never Finish The Story

Lex Luger is worried that Cody Rhodes didn't "seize the moment" at WWE WrestleMania 39.

WWE and WCW legend Lex Luger is concerned that Cody Rhodes will never "finish the story."

Cody's defeat to Roman Reigns in the main event of this year's WrestleMania was a shocking result at the time, with many assuming Rhodes would be the one to finally dethrone the Tribal Chief.

Since then, many have assumed that Cody's momentum will carry over into a successful rematch, a viewpoint which has wavered on social media since The Rock's recent onscreen involvement and rumours of a potential CM Punk return. Many fans have expressed worry that this would knock Cody down the pecking order.

Luger explained a similar view on the inaugural edition of his own Lex Expressed podcast (part of the AdFreeShows network), stating:

"There is a lot to say for seizing the moment. Cody had a lot of momentum. Sometimes you have to seize the moment. Now we see other stars rising up. There's talk of The Rock coming in. Cody, I think he's one of the best workers, the best interview. His costuming is immaculate. I love Cody Rhodes, but I'm a little concerned for him. I know he's very confident and I don't know about the storyline they have for him, but maybe he missed his moment there. So we shall see. To be continued. I hope not."

Luger is in a unique position to comment on the matter, having been similarly let down by booking after an apparent title push. He seemed destined to beat Yokozuna for the title at SummerSlam 1993, only to win via count-out, meaning the heel champion retained.
