Lio Rush Officially Signs With AEW

Rush first appeared at Double or Nothing

Former WWE Cruiserweight champion Lio Rush has officially signed with All Elite Wrestling, as confirmed by AEW on Twitter. The promotion tweeted the standard "... is All Elite" graphic to herald Rush's arrival.

During Wednesday night's Dynamite, Rush appeared in a promo video in which he claimed Tony Khan had been calling him nonstop. He referred to himself as "LBO Lio", and discussed wanting to do business with AEW.

Rush previously appeared for AEW as the "Joker" entrant in the men's Casino Battle Royal at Double or Nothing on May 30. He lasted only a brief time in the match, before getting eliminated by Matt Hardy and Private Party.

Shortly after the battle royal, though, Rush suddenly announced his retirement from the ring, while stating he would fulfill his remaining New Japan obligations once healed from recent injuries. Since his retirement announcement, Rush has wrestled ten matches in all.

Rush's most recent match took place for NJPW Strong on Sunday in Garland, TX, defeating Taiji Ishimori. He also released a new EP, Not Found, that came out yesterday.
