A first-time-ever clash between The Lucha Brothers and The Briscoes has been scrapped.

The two teams were scheduled to face off at Warrior Wrestling 25 on Sunday, October 2, but the promotion announced today that they had pulled the match from the show after a consultation with Ring Of Honor and All Elite Wrestling. As a make-good, AEW are sending Eddie Kingston to the show.

"After consultation from our friends at ROH and AEW, we have agreed to alter our card for Warrior Wrestling 25. The Lucha Brothers and the Briscoe Brothers will both still be competing, but they will no longer be facing one another...They will each compete in separate matches. BUT.....AEW will be sending EDDIE KINGSTON to compete at Warrior Wrestling 25 and appear at the pre-show fan fest as part of this change. We're excited to host the Mad King!" Warrior Wrestling tweeted.

The Lucha Brothers will now face Brian Cage and Gringo Loco, while The Briscoes will take on Myron Reed and Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz. Kingston will go one-on-one with Calvin Tankman.

The match almost happened earlier this year in House Of Glory but Arez replaced Rey Fenix as the former AEW World Tag Team Champion was injured.

No reason was given for the October 2 match being scrapped but Tony Khan likely wants the match to take place in one of his promotions first. The Lucha Brothers are signed with AEW, while The Briscoes are under long-term deals with ROH.
