Mark Briscoe And AEW Commemorate First Anniversary Of Jay Briscoe's Passing

Mar Briscoe remembers Jay Briscoe on AEW Dynamite

January 17 saw the first anniversary of the passing of Ring of Honor legend Jay Briscoe, with the former ROH World Champion passing away after a car collision.

With AEW Dynamite falling on the anniversary of Briscoe’s passing, Mark Briscoe was given time to celebrate his brother’s life, mentioning that Jay’s daughters were badly injured in the crash, with doctors believing that Jay’s eldest daughter may never walk again.

Jay’s two daughters and his eldest son then walked out onto the stage to a rapturous ovation, with the Briscoes hugging before a video highlighting Jay’s career aired.

In the aftermath of Jay’s passing, mark made his official All Elite Wrestling debut, with the Briscoes previously banned from WBD programming due to past inflammatory comments made by Jay regarding the LGBTQ+ community. Jay subsequently apologised and made amends for his behaviour.

The Briscoes last major appearance as a team came at ROH Final Battle 2022, with Jay and Mark defeating FTR in an instant classic double dog collar match to win the ROH World Tag Team Championships for a record setting 13th time.
