Mark Henry's AEW Double Or Nothing Segment Was Cut Short

The PPV was short on time

Mark Henry became the latest former WWE Superstar to sign with All Elite Wrestling at Double Or Nothing.

The World's Strongest Man's signing was revealed during the pay-per-view and he briefly stood on the stage and waved to the crowd at Daily's Place before heading backstage.

This wasn't the original plan, though, Tony Schiavone revealed on What Happened When.

The AEW commentator noted he bumped into Dave LaGreca and Henry the day before Double Or Nothing and only thought they were taping content for Busted Open Radio. He was later informed by Tony Khan, though, that Henry had joined the promotion.

"Tony [Khan] told me, 'No, [Mark Henry is] going to be with us, you're going to introduce him' and we had a five-minute interview we were going to do, which had to be cut because the show was running long. [Mark] just walked out, as people saw, and we did our interview on Dynamite," Schiavone stated.

"I went to the trailer to talk to Mark and said, 'Tony told me what we're going to say, do you know what we're talking about?' He said, 'I always know what we're talking about.' 'You got it buddy!' When he walked out, he pointed to his watch and was telling me, 'wrap it the f*ck up because we're short on time."

Henry signed a multi-year deal with AEW and he will serve as a coach, scout and expert analyst for the promotion. He will be on-screen as part of the broadcast team for AEW Rampage when the show debuts on August 13.
