Match Change, New Entrants Confirmed For 2021 WWE Royal Rumble

Some of you may be disappointed...

The 2021 Royal Rumble card has been updated following Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown. Two new entrants have been confirmed for the men's Rumble match, while the Universal title match has been changed.

Adam Pearce has been replaced by Kevin Owens as Roman Reigns' Universal title challenger, following a contract signing during Friday's show. The match between Owens and Reigns will be a Last Man Standing match.

Pearce signed the contract to face Reigns in the aforementioned gimmick bout, but cited a nagging knee injury, and used the "card subject to change" caveat to back out of the match. Using his authoritative powers, he named Owens as his own replacement against Reigns.

As for the men's Rumble match, both Jey Uso and Cesaro have been confirmed for the 30-man match. With their admission, the men's Rumble field climbs to eight.

The current card for the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble, taking place Sunday, January 31, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, is as follows:

* WWE World: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Goldberg

* WWE Universal/Last Man Standing: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens

* Men's Royal Rumble: Daniel Bryan, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Otis, The Miz, Jey Uso, Cesaro, and 22 more TBA

* Women's Royal Rumble: Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, and 24 more TBA
