Matt Cardona To Undergo Surgery Following Arm Injury

What will Matt Cardona's injury mean for the NWA Heavyweight Title?

Current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona is set for a spell on the sidelines after confirmed that he has a torn biceps.

Cardona took to social media to confirm the injury, tweeting, "Got a MRI today. Bicep is torn. Surgery needed. Will unfortunately need to cancel some dates."

He apparently suffered the injury at GCW Downward Spiral (where he beat Blake Christian) this past Saturday.

After the event, Cardona tweeted, "I think I tore my bicep and I still finished the match and beat you!!!" at Christian.

The NWA have yet to directly comment on the situation, but it is likely that Cardona will now miss the Alwayz Ready pay-per-view on June 11. Cardona was set to defend his title against former champion Nick Aldis on the show.

The NWA did retweet Cardona's injury tweet with the comment "What does this mean for the Champ?".

A torn biceps, depending on the severity of the tear, can take up to several months to fully recover from.
