Maya World Out Of Action Due To Procedure

Maya World will be out of action for the time being, with Fightful Select reporting the former TBS Champion underwent a procedure over the past week.

The nature of World's procedure is unknown but the hope is the 24-year-old will be able to make her return soon. World was forced to withdraw from upcoming dates due to the procedure, including for Athena's Metroplex Wrestling, who described World's absence as being due to "unforeseen events."

Maya World has been a featured performer for All Elite Wrestling in recent months. She and tag team partner Hyan signed with the company in December 2025 and World has received a push since June when she replaced Sareee in the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, with World ultimately advancing to the final, where she lost to Mercedes Moné at Forbidden Door.

One month later, World defeated Hikaru Shida at the AEW Redemption pay-per-view to capture the TBS Championship. She held the belt for 35 days until World dropped the title to Persephone at AEW All In following interference from the returning Britt Baker.

World's most recent match was at the Rebel Heart edition of Dynamite on September 9 where Britt Baker, Persephone and Hikaru Shida defeated World, Hyan and Thunder Rosa.
