One of the top stars of the United Kingdom independent wrestling scene seemingly won't be a part of WWE's upcoming tryouts in Europe on March 30.
Corey Brennan of Fightful Select has reported that Michael Oku is "highly unlikely" to be invited to the WWE tryout. There is no official word on why an invitation to Oku is unlikely to be extended but the 31-year-old does have ties to All Elite Wrestling, having worked a dark match before an AEW Dynamite taping in Cardiff, Wales ahead of All In 2024. It was reported at the time that AEW were close to signing Oku but a deal was never completed.
Oku has remained one of the top stars in the United Kingdom and he is the reigning RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, having regained the title from Luke Jacobs in December 2024. Oku also continues to wrestle for the likes of PROGRESS and Riot Cabaret Wrestling, and he recently worked wXw's 16 Carat Gold weekend in Oberhausen, Germany.
One name invited to WWE's European tryout is one of RevPro's featured performers in Zozaya.
