Mike Tyson Returning To AEW: Dynamite This Week

Iron Mike is heading back to Jacksonville

Mike Tyson will return to AEW: Dynamite this week, All Elite Wrestling has announced

This will be Iron Mike's first appearance on AEW TV in almost a year. He previously presented Cody Rhodes with the TNT Championship at Double Or Nothing 2020 and then got into a brawl with Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle on the May 27, 2020 edition of Dynamite. Le Champion has since revealed this was supposed to lead to a one on one match between himself and Tyson, but both sides failed to reach an agreement.

Reflecting on Tyson's return in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan said: "There are many reasons I wanted Mike to come back. He made a huge impact last year at Double Or Nothing, and we're at a point where we can bring him back in front of our fans. The fans who have come to the shows in Jacksonville have added so much to AEW, and it's important for me that our fans get to see him live. We're excited to have Mike back. This is going to be a big deal. With Mike coming to town, he's going to have a real impact on Dynamite."

AEW will go head to head with night one of WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver on Wednesday and other matches advertised for the Jacksonville show are Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks vs. Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers, "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Max Caster and Darby Allin vs. JD Drake for the TNT Championship.
