Mistico Close To Return From Injury

Mistico is reportedly close to returning from injury, with the CMLL icon having been out of action for several weeks.

CMLL and AEW fans feared the worst when Mistico appeared at CMLL’s May 18 event in Puebla on crutches, his planed performance that night cancelled due to a reported knee injury. However, it seems that the injury layoff is not expected to be a long-term absence, with Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer suggesting Mistico could return to CMLL by May 29:

“I have been told Místico could be back as early as Friday. We’ll see, but it’s not gonna be a long-term thing, I don’t think. Put it this way, they are under the impression he’s coming back soon. If he didn’t take time off, it would be a bad thing. He needed to rest. They rested him as expected. He was probably gonna come back real quick because, I mean, the guy’s the most valuable guy in wrestling. He’s just an incredible drawing card when you’re a house show business. He’s the guy,” stated Meltzer.

One of the biggest draws in lucha libre history, Mistico signed a dual contract with both CMLL and All Elite Wrestling in March 2026.
