MJF Cuts Babyface Promo On AEW Dynamite

MJF delivered one of the best promos of his career - no mean feat

MJF is one of the biggest most despicable heels currently plying their trade in pro wrestling, but as seen on this week’s edition of AEW: Dynamite, he can be a true blue babyface when he wants to be.

After CM Punk recently challenged MJF to a Dog Collar match at the upcoming Revolution PPV, MJF came to the ring on the February 23 edition of Dynamite, and explained where his hatred of CM Punk comes from.

MJF explained that the much circulated picture of a young MJF with Punk at a meet-and-great was huge for him, because as a kid he idolised Punk, and meeting his idol got him through tough times in school, where MJF was bullied for having ADD and for being jewish. MJF further explained that when CM Punk quit WWE in 2014, he felt like he’d quit on him too, and when he started his wrestling training he vowed to become the best in the world, not in honour of Punk, but in spite of him.

Punk eventually made his way to the ring, and quietly asked MJF if what he said was true, as a tearful MJF nodded, and walked off, his head hung low.

With one more week of AEW TV before AEW Revolution, it remains to be seen how Punk - or indeed MJF - will respond to this.
