Maxwell Jacob Friedman's return to All Elite Wrestling may not be too far away.

MJF has been gone from AEW programming since his loss to Mark Briscoe at All Out on September 20, which came only one day after Friedman dropped the CMLL Light Heavyweight Championship to Mistico at CMLL's 92nd Anniversary show. MJF has been absent from AEW TV due to filming on Violent Night 2 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Filming of Violent Night 2 is set to wrap "relatively soon", according to Fightful Select. It is unknown exactly when MJF will return to AEW TV, but the end of his filming commitments would suggest Friedman will be back on TV in the near future.

Violent Night 2 is the sequel to 2022's Violent Night, a Christmas action comedy starring David Harbour as an unhappy Santa Claus who has to save a little girl from a band of mercenaries on Christmas Eve.

MJF has caught the acting bug, according to Fightful, and he has spoken about how much he's enjoyed filming. Friedman had a featured role in Happy Gilmore 2 earlier this year as one of the titular character's sons. He also made a cameo in The Iron Claw as Lance Von Erich and he was given an executive producer credit on the A24 movie.
