More Details About Daniel Bryan's Future Reportedly Emerge

Could a return to ROH be on the cards?

One of the biggest wrestling stories of 2021 so far is reports that Daniel Bryan's contract with WWE has already expired, leaving the 'American Dragon' a free agent.

Bryan's contract with Vince McMahon's promotion came to an end last week, after his Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns, with the loss meaning Bryan is now banished from Smackdown.

The huge question on everyone's lips is now what Bryan will do next. The 39-year-old has been vocal about his future in wrestling, favouring a lighter schedule in order to spend time with his young family.

Fightful Select has spoken to a number of sources in the business and those within Ring Of Honor expect the company to, at the very least, make contact with Bryan about some form of appearance. Bryan is recognised as the 'founding father' of ROH, having joined the company in 2002 and worked for them up until his move to WWE in 2009.

Two talent in All Elite Wrestling, however, expect Bryan to remain with WWE, with one going so far as to say they'd already heard he was staying with the company.

The expiration of Bryan's contract with WWE appears to have taken many within the company by surprise, with the report suggesting that the man himself made no fuss about his deal coming to an end. Many backstage only heard whispers about Bryan's deal being up, as opposed to the man himself openly discussing the situation.
