Motor City Machine Guns Working Out Deal With AEW

AEW are set to bolster their tag team division with The Motor City Machine Guns.

The tag team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin - also known as the Motor City Machine Guns - are in the process of joining AEW.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported that although a deal hasn't been finalised, and won't be for a little while, the pair have decided to join the promotion:

"After speaking to sources, I can now confirm that the Motor City Machine Guns are headed to AEW. Sources have told me that AEW and The Motor City Machine Guns are working on finalising a deal. It was noted that the deal is not going to be finalised for a bit. However, the decision has been made and a deal will be worked out."

The team have wrestled for AEW in the past, teaming with Jay Lethal in a six-man tag team match at All Out 2022. There the pair lost to FTR and Wardlow.

The Motor City Machine Guns first formed in 2007 and wrestled together in TNA until 2012, reuniting as a duo within the promotion in 2020 and again in 2022. They have also competed in promotions such as New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor.

Both Sabin and Shelley are two of the most heralded wrestlers in TNA history, winning the promotion's tag team titles on three occasions. They have also both enjoyed considerable singles success, winning heavyweight and X-Division gold as individuals. (Sabin is a record 10-time X-Division Champion.)
