Mr Blobby Appears At Indy Wrestling Show

Mr Blobby in a wrestling ring?!

From Vince McMahon's retirement to the joint AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view to Cody Rhodes' WWE return, 2022 has been a crazy year in professional wrestling, and events got even crazier over the weekend as iconic children's character Mr Blobby appeared inside the squared circle.

Blobby appeared at an independent wrestling show on Sunday as part of the Gloworm Festival in Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire. If Blobby won his match is unknown but a short clip shows the children's character struggling to count to three and pushing a fellow competitor from the apron to the floor.

Blobby initially achieved fame in the 1990s when he was featured on Noel Edmonds' Noel's House Party on Saturday nights. Blobby's act consists of him walking around and bumping into things, causing enormous amounts of chaos in the process. Such was his popularity that he topped the UK singles chart in Christmas 1993 with 'Mr Blobby'.

He remains popular with children to this day but he has very much become a sinister character for adults, making terrifying appearances on This Morning and The Big Fat Quiz of the 90s during the 2010s.
