TNA Slammiversary was a huge night for TNA Wrestling, with the pay per view event seeing several title changing hands on a night when every sanctioned belt in the company was on the line.

There has been a changing of the guard in the vaunted X Division, with Mike Bailey defeating Mustafa Ali to begin his second run as X Division Champion in front of his hometown crowd in Montreal, Quebec. With this victory, ‘Speedball’ ends Ali’s first X Division reign at 140 days, after a match that saw Ali pull out all the stops in order to keep his hands on his championship. Ali thought he had the win in the bag when his security detail helped him pummel Bailey, but one member of the team stopped the ref counting three, with the guard unmasking to reveal Trent Seven. After Ali disposed of Seven he called out a new ref with Earl Hebner receiving a chorus of boos in Montreal. Ali locked in a Sharpshooter but Earl refused to screw Bailey, with Speedball locking in a Sharpshooter of his own to defeat Ali and win the title.

Earlier in the night TNA Tag Team Champions The System dropped the belts to ABC as the Bullet Club team began their third run with the belts. The team of Chris Bey and Ace Austin picked up the win after a back-and-forth bout, Bey accidentally wiping out a pesky Alisha Edwards before nailing a double Art of Finesse on Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards, as Ace Austin hit the fold on Myers to secure the straps. TNA World Champion would have been hoping this was not a sign of things to come for The System at Slammiversary.

Elsewhere, PCO is your new TNA Digital Media Champion, defeating AJ Francis to lift the title for the first time, whilst also lifting the historic Canadian International Heavyweight Title after AJ Francis brought the Lutte Internationale title out of retirement after 37 years. A wild plunder filled match that saw tables, chairs, bins, and a wild Rhino all running wild, with PCO chokeslamming Francis onto several chairs and hitting a PCO-sault to seal the win.
