New Championship Match Added To WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames II
Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane go at it once more...
The next NXT TakeOver special takes place next Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and the card is starting to fill up.
On last night's NXT episode, it was announced that new Women's Champion Shayna Baszler will defend her title against old foe Kairi Sane. During an interview with Cathy Kelley, Shayna claimed that Sane is nothing and that she doesn't matter around NXT. Kelley then asked Baszler about Sane invoking her rematch clause for the title, at which point General Manager William Regal swooped in to let the Four Horsewoman know that because she doesn't always play by the rules, a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls match will take place.
This will be the fourth singles matchup the pair will take part in, following on from the final of the 2017 Mae Young Classic, their meeting at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, and most recently, the title match at WWE Evolution.
In that Evolution match, Baszler's fellow Four Horsewomen Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke got involved, distracting Sane which opened the door for Shayna's KO victory. While their presence still could be felt in the 2-Out-Of-3 Falls match at WarGames, the fact that Shayna has to defeat Kairi twice is punishment enough in the eyes of William Regal.
