On January 4 & 5, two huge shows will be taking place back-to-back as both NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 and AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty will each be held in the iconic Tokyo Dome. Last night, NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed took place, and several matches were either teased or announced for the upcoming shows.

For Wrestle Dynasty, the current reigning TNT Champion Jack Perry is seeking to score a big win over Yota Tsuji. Perry showed up at Fighting Spirit Unleashed to attack Tsuji after his match against The Undisputed Kingdom (Mike Bennett & Matt Taven). Prior to his AEW return this year, Perry joined the House Of Torture stable in NJPW, making the company his home for a couple of months. NJPW’s David Finlay spoke in a backstage interview following Fighting Spirit Unleashed, issuing an open challenge for Wrestle Dynasty where he will be putting his IWGP Global Championship on the line. Finally for Wrestle Dynasty, the reigning AEW World Champion Jon Moxley revealed that he would be sending an ‘emissary’ to take on Shota Umino.

When it comes to Wrestle Kingdom, a major challenge was issued as NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi offered AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita a title vs. title match for the show.

Several other big AEW vs. NJPW matches have been teased for these shows, such as The Young Bucks vs. Kenny Omega & Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega vs. Gabe Kidd, and Ricochet vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
