New North American Champion Crowned At WWE NXT Halloween Havoc

In a Devil's Playground Match...

WWE NXT brought fans the first Halloween Havoc event in 20 years last night. The show featured multiple memorable moments as Dexter Lumis terrified Cameron Grimes in their Haunted House Of Terror Match, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez battered each other for 13 minutes and Io Shirai defended the NXT Women's Championship against Candice LeRae in a Tables, Ladders and Scares Match.

In the opening contest, Damian Priest defended the North American Title against Johnny Gargano. Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal awarded them a Devil's Playground Match, another name for a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Few expected the championship to change hands heading into Halloween Havoc, and Priest had the match won as he went for The Reckoning on the platform holding the wheel. Suddenly, a man in a Ghostface mask attacked The Archer Of Infamy from behind with a steel pipe.

Gargano couldn't quite believe his luck and followed up with a Tornado DDT. He then hit Priest with a tombstone, sending the champion crashing through a building below.

Priest had no chance of recovering from the fall and Gargano pinned him to become the first-ever two-time NXT North American Champion.
